It is a certification awarded to healthcare organizations that demonstrate excellence in person-centered care. Issued by Planetree International in 1978. Planetree (Person-Centered Care) Accreditation is based on evidence-based criteria as any accreditation. The purpose of PCC is to improve patient experience and health outcomes by putting the person – not just the illness – in the center of care.
