By the end of this event you will be able to:
- Differentiate between a "policy" (the guiding principle or rule that states the ‘what’ and ‘why’) and a "procedure" (the step-by-step instructions that detail the ‘how’).
- Identify the essential structural elements of a standard P&P document, including purpose, scope, definitions, responsibilities, procedural steps, and references.
- Explain the critical role of regulatory bodies (e.g., The Joint Commission, CBAHI, CAP, etc…), and evidence-based practice in shaping policy content and ensuring compliance.
