ABOUT THIS EVENT
To provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to prevent and control infections in the operating theatre, ensuring patient and staff safety.
The event’s duration is TWO (2) Hours.
This event has a mixed medium of instruction in both English and Arabic languages.
By the end of this event you will be able to:
- Identify the main sources and routes of infection transmission in the operating theatre.
- Describe standard and transmission-based precautions relevant to surgical settings.
- Explain the importance of surgical asepsis, sterile techniques, and hand hygiene in preventing surgical site infections (SSIs).
- List the essential elements of environmental control (e.g., ventilation, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization).
- Recognize the role and responsibilities of each surgical team member in maintaining infection control practices.
- Demonstrate proper donning and doffing of sterile gowns, gloves, and personal protective equipment PPE.
